With over a decade behind the chair, Jennifer Slim built Slate Studio in Houston, Texas from the ground up — a space dedicated to intentional color, transformative bleaching, and the craft of hair education. Her passion for teaching goes beyond technique; it's about empowering stylists to find their own voice, master their artistry, and build careers that reflect their purpose. Every class is a hands-on experience rooted in real-world expertise, formula mastery, and the business mindset that turns skill into success.
History
Where it all began.
Impact Blonding
The pilot that started it all. Hair transformations that lifted natural dark hair to pale blondes — in one session, without artificial heat — formulated to neutral and ash tones. This chapter is part of our foundation and can still be requested for private education.
Intentional Impact
A retouch blonding class built for stylists who need to master retouching already-existing blondes and managing warm tones with confidence and precision.

The original 2023 curriculum lives on through private classes, one-on-one mentorship, and online courses. Impact EDU diversifies what we can offer so every stylist gets the education they need, on their terms.
